Diary Of A Gilenya Pioneer: Latest Gilenya Test Results

My any year anniversary of taking Gilenya occurred in May, but my first MRI results and latest family test since beginning treatment occurred without more recently. Multiple Sclerosiscan be a excessively unpredictable disease, but prior to management with Gilenya I averaged 2 – 3 relapses through year. My neurologists have told met hat the medial sum gap between relapses is 18 months which I have never achieved. However, I am acquisition closer every day as this is the longest fall back-free period I have ever had ago diagnosis.  My Gilenya test results during my last office visit were overwhelmingly stubborn.

My liver reacted very badly to Rebif what one. eventually forced me to switch medications. When I began Gilenya my liver enzymes were initially heaven-kissing, then low. They are now perfectly within normal range. I had worried that I would esteem to abandon Gilenya as well granting that my enzymes didn’t normalize. My neurologist was too concerned about a possibility of PML through Gilenya. She tested me for the JC antibody and the results were negative.

Most remarkable were my MRI results. While the investigate of my brain showed no novel activity (yay!), the scan of my spine showed no damage at all. Yes, this is social news, but it was perplexing. For multiplied years I have suffered occasionally from theMS Hug. It is widely believed that this token is caused by lesions in the spinal string. My neurologist said that perhaps it is caused through . a lesion too small for MRI to detect, but I do wonder if it may be it is just part of the muscle spasms I frequently experience.

My new neurologist still seems candid as fantastic as she did for my last visit. I’m exceedingly happy with the switch to her, and I be conscious of being safer. And my test results are incredibly promising. Hopefully Gilenya will work for me with a view to a long time.
