New research for World MS Day 2012 suggest low public awareness of MS contributes to difficulties facing people living with the disease

An international study conducted by the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation (MSIF) in the scamper up to World MS Day forward 30th May has found that levels of awareness and intellectual powers of multiple sclerosis (MS), especially in dirty income countries, are extremely low.

MSIF ran the study on public awareness of MS earlier this year in five countries and establish that basic information about MS continues to have existence unknown to many people in cast down and middle income countries.

Peer Baneke, the CEO of MSIF related, “People with MS live with like a weather-cock symptoms that come and go, and are then often misunderstood by their friends, parents and children and co-workers.  To ensure that men with MS are able to live filled and socially integrated lives, it is decisive that there is basic awareness with respect to the disease and how it affects mob.”

The study was commissioned as charge of a new three-year chart for the World MS Day campaign what one. aims to raise awareness of three basic clew messages about MS:
1) There is none known cause or cure for MS
2) MS symptoms usually spasmodic effort between the ages of 25 and 31 and have power to last a lifetime
3) MS symptoms be unlike from person to person and from time to time

The messages fashion the basis of an innovative three-week campaign in the proceed up to World MS Day, famed on 30th May this year, revolving around a series of riddles.

Ayesha Ali, Campaigns Manager at MSIF related, “We knew we needed an exciting and attractive campaign to make a splash in the persons domain this year. Many MS organisations were assortment up to meet the needs of race with MS, but they are increasingly seeing the need to start a conference with the public. We are unhesitating to see a shift in the world awareness of MS, and hope that greater apprehension will lead to real improvements to the lives of clan with MS.”
